Bible Text=> Matthew 7:13-14
“Broad is the way that leads to destruction”.
This way is broad because it accommodates anything—loads of sin, little weights! It’s pathetic that many walk in this way, even the so-called Christians. They allow “little sins” to take hold of their lives.
On the other hand, the narrow way’s motto is: “lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth easily beset you.” (Hebrews 12:1-2). This way knows that everyone has a weight (weakness etc) and tells those who are ready to pass through to life to lay aside these weights (Remember only those who want LIFE). It supports self discipline. Only few people find this narrow way because only few do its bidding.

Finding the narrow way is what every heaven-bound Christian must do DAILY. We must die to sin daily by looking up to Jesus; the Way Himself, and the Author and Finisher of our faith. We must imitate how He overcame, obey His teachings and focus on Him and His love.
- Imitate how He overcame: Read the lessons from the temptations of Jesus. And He overcame challenges because He knew that God’s will is the best (Mark 14:35-36).
- Obey His teachings: Study the word of God to know His teachings and obey them.
- Focus on Him and His love: When faced with battles of life, focus on Him. Lean on His promises. Some have erred because they didn’t focus on His love.
Losing focus can make one to lose this way. Apart from the challenges of life, love of the things of this world can make one lose focus. Loving the things of the world will make one accommodate things that can never be found on the narrow way. Demas forsook the narrow way because of this (2 Timothy 4:10). Love of money destroyed an apostle who worked with Jesus. Judas was one of the apostles that were given power for the work of the Ministry. [I’m sure He would have cast demons out] (see Matthew 10:1-4). But He didn’t finish well because He failed to discipline himself. He allowed the love of money to defeat him. No wonder why Jesus said not everyone that call Him Lord, cast out devils in His name, etc, will make it to Heaven (Matthew 7:21-23). Judas was one of those who use “we are under grace” to sin. The grace is given to us to deal with the weakness(es) we have through Jesus, not a license to sin.
“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,.. Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world” (Titus 2:11-12).
What is that weakness in you? What is that sin that easily besets you? Pray to God to deliver you now. Also apply self discipline when needed. His grace will deliver you. Just have faith.
Shalom!
